BILLY LATSON PHS Class of 1965

Guestbook entries

I am so sorry for being late due to illness in sending a memoriam on behalf of the PHS Class of 1965 to our dear, sweet, classmate. I hope her family forgives me, but even having belatedly sent this sad goodbye, it gave me the time to go through the dictionary to try and find descriptive words for our sweet classmate. Alas, it was impossible! There were not words enough that would do justice to her. I can only offer some of the words that Ben Franklin sent in a letter to Elizabeth Hubbart upon the death of her stepfather, Ben Franklin” brother when he said: ” I condole with you, we have lost a most dear and valuable relation, but it is the will of God and Nature that these mortal bodies be laid aside, when the soul is to entr real life; ’tis rather an embrio state, a preparation for living; a man is not completely born until he be dead: Why then should we grieve that a new child is among the immortals? A new member added to their happy society? …………..Our friend and we are invited aboard on a party of pleasure——-that is to last forever. Her chair was first ready and she is gone before us. We could not all conveniently start together, and why should you and I be grieved at this, since we are soon to follow, and we know where to find her. Adieu. Sleep peacefully dear classmate in the heaven you deserve, and save a chair for us. PHS Class of 1965
